The minister said that the ministry is “investigating” cars from China within its fleets, however noted that safety is a concern in all contemporary cars.

We have a fleet of thousands of cars in the MoD and Chinese ones account for a very small number.
However whether you’re driving a Chinese car or a non-Chinese car, our instruction to our people is to avoid connecting MoD technology into their vehicle, not to have discussions at a classified level in any vehicle, because of the increasing threats of surveillance that exist in every single vehicle, to only have those confidential conversations in protected areas. This is a wise and sensible thing for everyone concerned about safety.

When it was suggested that it would be wise for the MoD to cease using every Chinese vehicles, Pollard replied: That is exactly what we’re investigating at the present time.”
